Album Review Crew Episode 28: "Purple Rain"

On the 28th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the 1984 legendary album by Prince and The Revolution, "Purple Rain."

This was Prince's 6th album and the soundtrack to his movie, "Purple Rain," which starred Prince and The Revolution, along with Apollonia and Morris Day & The Time.

Purple Rain made Prince a superstar. The album is 13X Platinum and has sold 25 million albums worldwide. The album went to #1 and stayed there for an astonishing 24 weeks! The album has made it on most all time lists and won a couple of Grammys.

The tracks include classics like, When Doves Cry, Let's Go Crazy, Purple Rain and more. Prince's genius is on full display on this Soundtrack, whether it's his vocals, musicianship or production.

This was Tom's pick and a first album for ARC which may be considered Pop Music. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks, and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the cover against the previous 26 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew Episodes. They also review the movie which is an 80's landmark.

So put on your purple and Let's Go Crazy! Beep Beep!
